TW Chip Questions
Once my '79 sells Im gunna be ordering a TW Chip a few hours after that.
I have a few questions first. 1. What is the difference between Light Tow and Heavy Tow? What are approximate trailer wieghts for each? Is it just different shift points and Heavy is fueled down a little to control EGT's? 2. With stock injectors in a 1995 7.3 does extreme setting have much of a benefit? I have heard that the injectors cant keep up in extreme and that street setting is actually faster with the stock sticks. Can anyone verify this? 3. I have an E40D tranny that was rebuild 1500 miles ago? Should I have any worrys? 4. What are all of your views on getting the stock setting? I would never use it but some like it for returning truck to stock for diagnostic reasons. I plan on getting, Stock??? Econo Hi Idle light/heavy tow Daily Street Extreme??? Smoke Thanks for the input. |

thanks HVAC. Are you saying go with extreme OR smoke to get good smoke? because I do want a tune to roll some coal when the buddies always say "lets see it smoke" or when at 4-wheel jamboree's or for the pesky ricers. What settings do you have?

hmmmmmm.....Well, for smoke period, I would just go with the smoke tune then.
I have stock, HI Idle, Lt. Tow, Econo, Street, Extreme. I just sent mine back for a reburn for my stg 2 sticks |

I will most likely go with the same tunes as you except smoke instead of extreme. I hear alot of great stuff about extreme but if I cant use it to potential with my stock injectors then why get it?

true, I didnt know about the extreme tune not being a good one for stock inj. trucks. But, I do like to have it just for the sake of the usage. It does allow me to boost off the line, and I still get about the same performance as the street. street is really peppy of the line, instant throttle response.

so for good pep and response go street? for hard launches and drag racing go extreme?
|

Yeah, the street tune is really peppy off the line. He says the extreme lets you boost off the line with out spinning too much.

![]() Now thats making me want to drop the stock and get both extreme and street. No one drives my truck except me and if they do, I can limit there power by tuning it to econo.
