6.0 turbo in 7.3

Curious has anyone put a 6.0 turbo in a 7.3. If so like to hear about it and see pictures if possible. Thank you

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust system, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

I always love posting this video, though one of these days I'm going to get in trouble for linking to someone elses property. He made his own electronic controler but I do believe that there is a diaphragm boost controller that looks like a wastegate now.

Humm...

I have also wondered about this.

But more to the point, I want my 7.3 just to sound like a 6.0 lol

Why dose the 6.0 turbos have so much turbo whistle compared to the 7.3's?

L99 f250 7.3 powerstroke,
L99 hybrid turbo,

Short answer is that the turbo is spinning faster than ours at a comparable rpm at engine idle. Meaning, at our engine rpm of about 1200rpm our turbos whistle pretty good but the sound is drowned in the engines exhaust noise/note. Now keep our 1200rpm whistle but stack it against 600rpm engine noise. Our turbos would sound pretty cool too.

The point of the VVT turbo is to act like a .60 housing at idle but swing with demand to something closer to 1.20 at throttle. Same as the SD 7.3L with a wastegate but even more swing. In the end the VVT design is not great for overall power and a lot of people are switching them out for a more reliable wastegate system and doubles.
