1.00 A/R turbo housing install

hey yall,

Im thinking about doing this mod to my PSD and wanted to get yalls input... The trucks stock except for a AFE intake and a MBRP 4" strait pipe exhaust (if i can ever get time to install it). I wanted to see how hard this was to do and if there is any write up on how to install it. also, wanted to hear back from people who have installed it to see what type of gains they got from doing the install???

Thanks ya'll

If you've never had the turbo off a '94-'97 truck before you are going to hate doing it. If you have and know your way around them you won't mind it quite so much. You do have to remove the turbo to install it. And the two bolts in the back for the pedistal are a real pain to get to unless you know how to get to them. I had a write up on my web site but it's not up as of now. Hopefully it will be again shortly though.

They do make a nice reduction in the time it takes the turbo to spool up. And it will make more boost at lower rpms so they work really well for guys that tow a lot.

I'd get a TW chip and some inj. The 1.0 will spool faster but won't make any more power.

You are correct cary but it all depends on what he's looking for. If he's looking for a bunch more power then that would be the way to go but would cost many times more. If he's just looking for a quicker spooling turbo then for $150 the housing will do the truck.
