The late '94 and early '95s have the drain back issues. I believe it was mid year '95 when they changed it. So it is going to depend on when yours was built. I think if you have the radiator cap on the recovery bottle then it should be a late '95 and be OK. If the radiator cap is on the radiator then it's an early '95 and you may have issues. I was running some 175cc injectors and setting a CEL with my stock '96 pump. I installed a pump out of an '00 and the CEL went away but other than that I didn't notice any difference in how the truck ran. Going from that to a 20° pump that swamp's was putting out for awhile made a difference in throttle response and top end power. But it wasn't a huge gain. The '00 pump I got had a flat backing plate. So I'm not sure if it was actually a 17° pump or not. My reilable source says it very well might not have been. A very less reliable source says it was. However I've also heard from my reliable source that there is a larger variance between 15° pumps or 17° pumps than there is between a 15° and 17° pump. It all just depends on the condition of the pump. Flyin, sorry but I'm just tired of some of the missinformation on these sites. I've seen people say that AAs are 98cc and 90cc and that ABs are 120cc etc. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what injectors flow. I have no need to call any fuel shops to ask what these injectors flow. I work in a fuel shop and have a flow bench and have flow tested hundreds of injectors. Not to mention doing hours and hours of R&D on the injectors. On every set of injectors I've personally tested, unless there are parts worn out makeing them flow less, AA injectors flow 90cc of fuel, AB injectors flow 130cc of fuel and AD injectors flow 140cc of fuel. Not trying to be right. Just trying to be accurate. |

well thanks man, I may be wrong.but I took alot of sh*t from guys on this forum and I try to help, when I can .and if I dont know, I will not say nothing and just read and keep it to myself.I think we are all learning here!!! there is not one of us here that knows everything about this motor.we have not got a power stroke in the 7s or 8s,why fuel, air PCM,IDM and will the motor hold up?we have not hit 1000hp yet.but coming soon.but to get back to the hpop.I felt alittle more power and the top end did not fall so rapidly.I did hit my rev limiter and my speed limiter then dropped real fast and bucked alittle.at that time I had 160cc and 80 over nozzles EH.so the 17degree hpop worked.so what do you think about sho injectors ,the oil mod? I hate to say this but I think gts is right. your truck is a mid or late 95 so it's just a swap of pumps. I have a early 95. I got a 17* and sent it to one of the 3 HPOP builders with my 15* and they built a 17* out of my 15* for only 75.00 and kept the 17* housing & all old 15* parts. Not a bad deal. So I don't have any drain back prob.

Flying I must say most of the stuff I've seen you say has been pretty accurate. It definitely sounds like you've done a lot on these things and know your stuff. I've talked to Lott about his SHO injectors a little. It seems the mod works best on hybrids from what I've heard. The problem is getting that rail pressure inside the injector which the SHOs are supposed to do. I'm not 100% exactly sure what he's doing but I got a good idea. But anything to get the oil inside the injector better is going to be a good thing. 7.3 I think you are going to have the late '95 and be able to swap directly over. However I'm not 100% sure. I don't know if they did all the changes at the same time or if they updated parts here and there. RC51 if they can build the 17° pump out of a 15° pump that would be very cool for those with a late '94-early '95. BTW you actually have an RC51 or just really like them? Those are some of the most bad a$$ed bikes out there! I love them. Just wish I could afford one!
