turbo housing

ive been looking up turbo housing and they are about in the $200 range. do i just take the old housing off and the smaller 1.00 on? it says quicker spool and more power. true? its a smaller turbo

To do the change you must take off the turbo/pedastal. It will decrease spool-up time and increase boost since it restricts the exhast side to push the exhaust wheel more.

Yes it does spool quicker and can make a little more boost. But before you buy one I'd suggest figureing out what you plan to do with your truck. If you don't think you'll ever install bigger injectors then get the .84 housing. It's smaller so it will spool up super quick! But anything bigger than stock injectors is going to overspool the turbo so you would want to just get a 1.0 housing or stay stock.

no not bigger injectors just exaust chip intake and turbo. so 1.0 work ok? can u really feel the difference?

I ran a 1.0 before upgrading injectors. It did make a noticeable difference in performance, especially when towing. You will feel the truck pull harder around 2000 RPM. It can be a pain to install, but it is worth it. I wouldn't have an OBS PSD with stock injectors and a stock housing.

Yeah it' makes a very noticeable difference. The 1.0 will work fine with your plans. The .84 would work great as well as long as you don't upgrade injectors.
