Truck sputters with TW chip on SMOKE

I put a tw chip on my buddies truck for him and it sputters only on the Smoke setting. Is it not gettin enough fuel or whats wrong? Thanks

sometimes that can be due to injector issues. Could be sticking/worn out. Same thing happens with my buddies OBS when he has it on the highest setting

HPOP could be worn and can't keep up with injectors, also what are the injectors stock or higher capacity?

Are you sure you got good contact where it plugs onto the PCM circuit board? I would check that first.

How about getting some readings on the HPOP and the fuel pressure? That will answer a lot of questions.
