Filter Mods and Winter
Any of you guys that are running an aftermarket intake kit or a DIY have issues in the winter with the filter plugging up with ice and snow? I am considering making the mod myself, and spend alot of time in the UP of Michigan with snowmobiles..
Dont want to strand my self before I begin.Any info will help... |

I had a simmilar problem with an older gas truck. Took a 300 Strait 6, added intake, 4bbrl, headders, cam, and a 3" x 14" air cleaner. Drove great until it reached 32 degrees with a hint of rain or snow. Then the carb and air cleaner looked like a giant snow cone... Just looking to avoid the simmilar situation.

I don't think that snow would plug it up. I have been 4 wheeling and have gone through some big mud holes and i haven't ever had a problem. But the again i haven't ever been in the freezing arse cold like in the UP.
