Ts chip

I just bought a TS chip for my 7.3 and was wondering if I would notice any difference in power/driveability compard to the Edge evo CS that I have been using? Also wondering since I have no pillar gauges if I could use my CS to monitor my my boost egt's ect. It would really suck to buy gauges since I already have my CS to monitor temps ect. Also my truck is a 5spd. Thanks

As long as the egt probe is not in down pipe, you should be fine, not sure on power differences in the ts vs edge, especially if you only got canned tunes

Yeah it's drilled into the manifold and I went with the canned tunes. I didn't think there was a point getting custom tunes since all I have are turbo back exhaust and tymar intake. It seemed that most of the custom tunes were mostly for the auto trans shift points and stuff.

Honestly even tho your stick it would still have more power with custom tuning

My truck came with an edge box, i threw that away and installed a stock tuned TS, i am running a DP/exhaust and intake as far as mods and the difference was huge. More power and i noticed a huge improvment over how well the truck ran, quieter smoother idle etc. I threw in an edge CS for gauges so I have the best of both worlds.

Yeah I don't like how on my edge cs I can only really run on stock or extreme. On tow which they claim is 40hp my truck feels slower than stock. On street which is 60hp it runs good but drives like **** unless I drive like a granny it feels really jerky. And on extreme the power is decent and drive good but I noticed the engine is a lot louder compared to stock. Does the ts make the engine a lot louder like the edge cs does?

Nope, i can go between all settings and the idle remains unchanged and so does the motor noise all through the powerband, I find the throttle still sensitive(apparently its just an OBS thing) but not as bad as on extreme with the Evolution. Just be aware that the 100/140HP tunes you dont really get much of a gain from them since we are limited by our stock injectors.

its 10x easier to pull the computer right out of the truck rather then trying to clean the contacts from inside the cab, make sure you get the contacts clean. dont rush and do a half assed job getting the contacts bare. i lucked out and got mine perfect on the first try.
