rosewood's diy injectors..
alright now im on the verge of whether i want to get injectors or not. If i do im guessing my best bet is to go with rosewood's diy kit for cost reasons. Now am i better buying the diy stage 1 kit for 250$ and buying the premachined pistons for 225$ and finding a local shop to do it or do i ahve rosewood do it. Im guessing you litterally have to send your injectors in so my truck would be inoperable for a while right? i just dont know if i should pay a shop to do it or wait around for my injectors to get back. if anyone has any experience with doing this let me know.

I just did the DIY stage 2's. Getting the pre-machined pistons will save you the downtime and hassle of finding a machine shop, and if you get them from Jim (Rosewood,) you know they will be machined correctly. Jim is awesome to deal with, he did a great job rebuilding the AD's in my 2000 for a great price, which probably would have normally gone to the scrap heap.
If you do the job yourself, it will be about 6-7 hours to pull them out, overhaul, and re-install (including adding the chip.) |

I had my injectors built by Rosewood Diesel. It was a very positive experience and I would have no problems sending my injectors to Jim. I was down about a week from time out and shipped to when I had them back to install. Only thing I can tell you is prepare for upgrading your HPOP. The injectors are great but I throw a CEL anytime I get on it. Other than that I love the bigger injectors.
