I have not heard great things about the transcommand. You might be better of with a Sonnax shift kit. We installed two of them last night in a couple of 7.3's up in Sheridan at our Indy Get together. I hadn't ridden in any of the trucks prior to the install, but afterwards the shifts felt stronger, quicker and smoother compared to what I had in my 7.3.

i like my new crisper shifts....
they are not like most shift kits that make your neck snap back when your tranny shifts gears, but there is definately reduced clutch slippage between gears and really holds my chip's power better.

These kits should help reduce heat and extend transmission life also.

yes it is an internal shift kit. The kit includes a few springs, an O ring and a new valve that produces increased line pressure. Everything installs in the valve body of your transmission which sounds more intimidating than it really is. My truck currently has only 56,000 on the odometer.

purduefarmboy got the kits for only 50 bucks per kit.

It seemed to be a pretty quick install as well, about an hour give or take. It's really not near as difficult as one might think.
