Can I get some more BOOST?
I have a '97 PSD that doesn't have a wastegate? I am new to the PSD and was wondering how I could get some more boost. I have put on a MBRP 4" turbo back and cannot pull my 30ft camper on flat ground in OD. What would be my options (with my current truck, not financially able to get another right now) to get some more pulling power outta this thing. Not interested in drag racing, just pulling. Any help will be and is very much appreciated!
Thanks, 73vega454 |

A chip will help a lot, but you need a pyrometer also. Stage 1 injectors will make your truck a towing beast.

agreed with them, plus intake.... get a pyrometer (EGT) gauge and boost (optional)... plus a trans temp gauge is always helpful with towing....
tony's chips will make your truck feel brand new (and more) plus better shift points!! hahaha |

We don't have waste gates..don't need them.
First please fill out your sig! How many miles? Towing in OD with a stock truck with something that big....your will need to mod it $$$$$ Tony's chip and a Tymar intake will help but you may be pulling to low of rpm in OD with that kind of weight. Inj can really make a difference but will more than likely be the last straw for your trans. Start with the basics, Intake, guages, chip then as $$ comes available..new trans...BTS or John Wood or if its new or low miles a BTS VB and a Big trans cooler. Then injectors. Cary |

Where do you travel with your camper? An intercooler would be better before or at the same time you do injectors.
Once you get an EGT gauge you'll be surprised at how hot things will get towing. |
