Gages

Dose anybody have information on probe placement for Gages. I am installing a Boost, and EGT. Since no mater where I place them I will have to drill, I want to make sure that I do it right the first time.

The EGT I was considering the Left side exhaust Manifold

Boost I was thinking the Y-Pipe just below the boot

1996 2wd PDS 5 Speed

Thanks
Paul

This one is post turbo, which is NOT what I would suggest to do, since your Temps will be varied and lower.

maintain y do they make the down pipes with the spot to put an egt sensor in it? Is that just becuse its easyer than putting somthing into that cast y pipe? I was thinking mine wouod just go in to down pipe.. Or should i put my sensor on one of my manifold pipes.. i have toreplace both anyways...could the temps vari from side to side dependent on o ring condition or injector quality? then would it be best to put in y or post turbo.. i guess your usesin the gauage to protect the turbo right? So it makes scence to mount pre turbo but. I still am not sure what position wiht be the most effective

gage placement

your egt sensor should be in your exhaust manifold, that way you are able to observe the temp of the exhaust coming out of the motor because at 1200 a powerstroke will begin to self destruct, the boost gauge goes on the pipe coming from the front of the turbo going into the intake manifold its usually the only black powder coated pipe on the top side of the motor its right underneath your center cover and slightly to the back of it.
