Need help with suping up my truck

Ok if you dont know already i have a 96 powerstroke f350 stock except straight pipe.. I think i want to buy a DP-Tuner and i want really just a lot of smoke and more power cause i can barley burn the tires right now...I want fairly good economy but i want the other stuff to...what do i need besides gauges.. for mods so like i could put in a 120hp chip in..Or a different chip..I dont usually tow but i do occasiaonly a cow trailer.. So wat do you guys suggest?? I need some help

I would get an intake. maybe a WW and ATS housing. and hpox, but you should have alot of fun with just the chip



On vacation from a truck for a year or...
Looking at 6.4s Moving in a few months then hopefully buying my dream truck!!!

what is a WW... Which Intake..and HPOX...And HPOP..And am i going to fry my turbo or anything if i just get the chip??

ww is wicked wheel, it is a better fan for the turbo, it reduces surge, and sounds awesome. intake, you could go with the DIY, which is just a napa filter with the 4 inch input, there is a write up on it in the performce section. and no you shouldnt fry anything or your turbo with the chip if you watch temps, i would also be semi concered about the transmission

If you want a lot of smoke you will need bigger injectors also.

gauges first

if you want to do it right you will need an intercooler, injectors, intake, 4" exhaust and a custom tuned chip... i personally like the tony wildman chip because you can get one now before you do the injector upgrades and later on when you do do them and maybe a new turbo you can send the chip back to us and we will reburn it for free....

my buddy has a truck ud swere it was a twin, anyway the best thing u could do is is get rid of that mess they call a fuel bowl and switch to a electric fuel pump and add a fuel pressure regulator that will get u smoken beleve me the truck will run so much smoother and faster

You won't need a WW, that's for the '99up trucks.

If you haven't already, get a 3" downpipe. An intake would be my next thing to do. Then shim the FPR.

Gauges and a Chip will get you in the 200-220 hp range. Depending on the chip tune, you may see a little smoke with a stock turbine housing, but with a 1.0 it will run pretty clean.

If you want smoke you need injectors.

If it were me, I would do the full exhaust, get yourself an intake, gauges(at minimum EGT). Then your choice of tuner (DP, Wildman, DI, or BTS), see how you like it then, upgrading your trans should also be taken into consideration to prevent major problems. From that point you are looking at getting bigger injectors, better fuel system, bigger turbo and adding an intercooler. You can this in whatever order you want, this is just how I have been going about doing it.
I am to the point where I will be adding a intercooler very soon, possibly 3in plenums and having my H2E modded, ceramic coated along with ex. manifolds and up pipes. I am also limited on adding any more power, I am at the verge of popping something if I don't add headstuds. While I am there I may as well add valve springs and push rods too........the list is never ending really, lol
