Exhaust question!?

I'm currently runnin jist a 3" downpipe.... Is this healthy fer my engine and turbo? Why/ why not?

You're fine with the 3" DP. If you still have a Cat chuck it and get a "3 1/2" test pipe". Stock DP is ****.

I cringe every time I see a factory DP.

I think the OP is saying he has NOTHING aft of the downpipe, and wants to know if it's safe/wise. It's probably fine for the truck, but not too good for the occupants of the cab, since the exhaust is exiting right below the floor (and the cab isn't exactly sealed).

It's obvious that yes it is, exhaust is better with back pressure better yes, but the turbo is more than you will ever need, here is actual proof of my last swap

Thanks Pogue, I didn't catch that. Not to mention that the soot will stick to everything down there. Also, if I'm not mistaken, when the soot gets wet I think it becomes more and more acidic.

Guys his sig says he has an exhaust, unless its a different truck or something...?

IF its just the DP, then i second everything mentioned above. PLUS your trans cooler lines are right there, if you had a leak in one of those lines or at the trans say bye bye truck. Trans fluid goes up quick...

As for the 3" dp, the outlet on the turbo is only 3", plus i don't think you will fit anything larger than that. So the 3" is fine up to the converter.
