Water Methanol Injection without intercooler

Noticed that whenever I hit the steeper hills over 2k rpms with 5lbs of boost or more my egts shoot up over 1200, I have to back her off to get them down again and can only cruise at 35-40mph in a 55 zone. I plan on installing an intercooler eventually but am still running down the parts. Anyone running a Water/Methanol setup in their rig thats non-intercooled? Where did you install the sprayer nozzle and what size are you using? What were your egts like pre and post install?

Have been reading up alot on this site:

What I do even with an intercooler is drop a gear, rpms get pretty high, but boost is up, egt down, and speed isn't so slow, as far as water meth I've seen that DIY version too and would love to install one as well

do you just downshift on the column? I'm running an auto tranny unfortunately but that'll change in the future as well

I hauled 17k and at some grades went down to 1st gear just to keep it moving, so yes you can manually down shift an auto

With an intercooler most of us can run our foot on the floor and keep out of trouble. I normally hit the OD off button and spool up to about 2700rpm with 15+ lbs of boost and watch the egts drop.

i ran a Cooling Mist stage 1 kit on my old OBS with out an intercooler and it worked great.
I found once it came on my EGTs stayed steady and stopped climbing. that was with stage ones and a 5 spd 35s and 4.10s usually pulling about 10000lbs up 5-8 % grades. I ran duel nozzels and used a lot of water though.

I ran water/meth on my old 6.5 and it didn't have an intercooler, it helped tremendously. I just tapped into the intake manifold.

Right on, I had forgot about the OD button but will give that a try. I'll go ahead and give the water/meth setup a go if she is still running hot. Cant complain for a $200 performance mod.
