1995 7.3 performance

Hey guys so im 16 and I picked up a 95 f250 with 147k on it. Its all stock except a 4 inch lift on 35's. I need to keep this truck for a long time so I don't wanna effect longevity at all. Do you think adding a 3inch down pipe to 4 inch straight pipe, tymar intake, and a dp or tony wildman will hurt my engine or tranny?

Intake and exhaust are only going to help your engine. A chip under normal circumstances will not hurt your engine. So I've got to ask, your 16 and don't have a lead foot? What may hurt your trans more than anything (if it is a auto) is the 35" tire's if the truck does not have the gearing for them and you either have a heavy foot or tow often.
Oh and

If you truly baby it the trans should be fine but make sure that you are keeping up with maintenance on it. Also would not hurt to install a tru-cool 40k trans cooler. Any ideal what gearing you have? Something in the area of 3'73 or 4.10 would be ideal for all around use. The mods you are talking about will only net you about 60 hp over stock.

The exhaust and intake will net 60 hp? Or with the chip? Stock gears. And how much is the cooler?

I would do the following:

Intake - DIY 6637 intake
Exhaust - 3" downpipe to 4" straight pipe
Gauges - Isspro all the way. Pyro, boost, and Trans temp
Chip - PHP or TW 6 position
Tranny - BTS valvebody, 3/8" super duty transmission lines, and a tru-cool 40k cooler in the front bumper.

Those should give you a nice all around driving truck that should last quite a long time.

Your truck has 90cc single shot injectors. They limit the amount of power you can gain from custom tuning to about 60 additional horsepower over stock. The cooler is about $140 shipped from Bob at dieselsite.

60 hp with the combo of exhaust, intake and chip. Stock gears could be 3.54 or 4.10. http://www.dieselsite.com/specialord...ioncooler.aspx you may be able to find it cheaper through amazon or another site.

I'm running 4.10s and would say you should be ok, but if my tranny goes I have the connections to stick a 5 or 6 Spd in. I would say tough that you do gain more go than that. I think I remember a dyno session that they had a bunch of chips they were trying on a truck with only a intake and a exhaust and were getting almost 700 ft torque. That was a old body style too.
