Got $500- Intake? DP Tuner? Exhaust?
We're now over $4.00 in Washington. My '97 powerstroke is new to me and I'm new to the Diesel world. I've been getting between 14.5 and 16.5 MPG depending on where and how hard I drive. I understand to do things right you want everything. Gauges, DP Tuner, TYmar Intake, and modify the exhaust. I want to boost my MPG but don't have the $$$ to do all the above. Where would you start with $500?
This forum is awesome it has saved me at least $500 in just minor troubleshooting costs. Thanks in advance. |

The first thing I would do is replace the factory down pipe with a 3". You can straight pipe the factory exhaust and do a DIY intake. That may leave you enough money to get a used tuner or single program chip. just be easy with the tune until you get gauges.
Welcome to the ORG.!

4in FBD Exhaust will help.

Probably the exhaust and a DIY intake, five hundred should cover that. Then you can get gauges and chip it.
