You can hold it at 1200*, you can burst it to 1450*, but a good tow tune will cut fuel at higher RPMs to keep EGTs under control. Keep an eye on your Tranny temps.

Custom TS or Standard? Tranny under 200* is alright. Cooler the better. I recently installed a 40K tranny cooler from dieselsite and my unloaded temps don't go above 140* now.

$130-ish on Dieselsite DieselSite / Tranny Cooler. I'll have to get you a pic tonight but it fits right behind the holes in the bumper. So:

-remove bumper
-set back face up
-position cooler
-drill holes smaller than self tapping screws
-install screws
-run line from tranny output tube -> to rad -> to 40k cooler -> to return tranny tube
-plug or remove stock cooler
-with everything hooked up BUT cooler (and bumper) still flat on the ground in front of truck -start the truck (the cooler needs to be flat on first startup to ensure that the cooler passes -all the air inside of it)
-install bumper

So I have this idea, my brother put a bigger cooler in his truck and his old one works fine. So what if I just stack his old one and my current one? Make it flow through two of them before back in the tranny?
