Stage 1 Kit - $250.00
Most affordable way to get 160cc of fuel out of your 1994-1997 7.3L Ford Power Stroke injectors! So the DPP site says that i can get 160cc out of my stock injectors for only $250. Since my student budget isnt huge, and my dad has 17 years of experience, would this be the best deal for me? I've heard it takes some time to do, but this seems like a really good deal. And dad has a bud at the local machine shop that could machine my intensifier pistons. Gas mileage shouldnt be affected though if its drove "mildly" right? |

DIY is a great option for injectors. My fuel mileage has not dropped at all with the 160cc injectors.

best performance mod yet for me, definately best bang for the buck, and it was pretty easy too.

These are not a huge jump from our stock injectors, right?
Any problems making this injector upgrade with a factory turbo? later |

Just a bump to see if my question could be answered...
I know this is the obs section, but it's still a 7.3 question... |

I believe stock injectors on OBS trucks are 90cc and stage 1 are 160cc if this is what you mean . But if you have an 02 your injectors are bigger then 90 cc. not sure on the second question sorry.

These are a HUGE upgrade from stock injectors. The power they make is awesome. Ive had them in for almost 2 years now with a stock turbo and no problems.

Well you're right 90cc-160cc is huge. For some reason I thought my stock injectors were 130cc. I need to do more research on them, i'm probably way off...

Chris,
Your '02 puts out about 140cc, the Stage-1's are about 160cc, so you'd see very little improvement. But I will say that the Single Shot conversions, both Stage-1 & 2 have been pretty popular. Guys have reported back an increase in fuel mileage and many more tuning options with Singles. It's a great option for some of the older Super Duties with high miles as the conversion Kits replace the main wear parts like P&B's and Nozzles, too. Hope this helps. |
