Tuning issues

Hey guys I have tw tunes in my truck. Eco, daily, heavy tow, high idle, street, and extreme. I'm not happy at all with my heavy tow tune. When I'm towing it doesn't want to lock the torque converter up. It leaves it unlocked and runs my trans temp up. Also I have a slightly built tranny. Triple disk, trans go, extra clutches all the good stuff. Should I just look into a new tuner? Thanks guys.

have you contacted the retailer on your tony tunes? also did you mention the fact your have a specialty trans in it?

You have more torque with the TC unlocked. My TW tunes Heavy Tow setting doesn't lock the TC till 62-65 MPH. The tow setting is for down low power cutting fuel above 2200-2500 RPM. It's for grunt not freeway cruising. I tow kinda heavy and have not needed the setting unless I'm on a loooooooong hill.

So would the tow tune be better suited for me? Also I have 3.73 gears and yes I did mention that about the trans.

The TW tune should lock the converter in third (instead of fourth) when you push the OD off button. Does this happen?

The reason Kris asks is that 3.73's are not avalible from Ford in the Diesel. More likely you have 3.55's if you are having difficulty with these tows.

On the door jam what is printed on the sticker where it says axle cd. Should be a letter and a number. Now someone still could have changed it after the fact.
