Smoke

I have a 96 psd i have a ts performance 6 pos cold air intake 4" exhaust and have just completed the fpr shim.. My question is my truck blows absolutlely no black smoke even on my highest setting. I am wondering if that is normal, it seems to me under heavy acceleration i should at least get some.

I've heard that on the "older" 7.3's it's harder to get smoke because they don't have as big of injectors and the HPOP is less capable. Just hearsay from what I've picked up "knocking around" on here....but a possibilty.

The injectors are smaller on the OBS 7.3s,(like 90-100cc i think?) so they won't smoke much at all.

Idk how true this is but it seemed like mine had to get broken in.....could bearly get it to smoke the first couple months. yesterday i got it throw a "moderate" amount of smoke on lvl 4 and 5 of my edge juice w/attitude, low boost fueling didnt make much difference. Just a thought, i really doubt it ca be "broken in" but its the only reaso i can see. How long hae you had your chip on?

superdutys have bigger injectors so they can smoke more with just a chip my bone stock, exc for straight stock exh, 97 will throw a little puff of soot if you put it to the floor and shift at about 3500rpm it will throw a puff when you hit the next gear
