Trans-Command Location

Ok, so how many have installed the Banks Trans-command unit? The truck i bought had it installed per a receipt dated 2004 when the tranny was replaced. Ford stated in the reciept that the Trans-command was removed and the harness replaced to prevent warranty issues. I am not sure if the unit was removed or just wiring. I am hoping the later.
Anyone know where to start looking, i.e. where would the unit be installed, so i can see if it is still there? i have looked all over the frame rail and can't locate anything. truck only has 30k and 11 years since the trans went so i think i should be good to reinstall if i find it.
Thank you

Kris,

That would be true for most anyone else but not me. I had Ken Imler diesel look at it today, No Banks turbo, No banks exhaust and the trans-command is most likely on the Ford service tech's truck that did the trans work. He should be the wear marks where it was most likely installed. Oh well, at least i have an aftermarket down stack, inner cooler and low mileage. Guess you can't have everything.

You're not missing much with the Transcommand anyway, I wouldn't be too upset that its gone.

That intercooler cost like $1200, and having a down pipe already installed both help because they are a huge pain to put in anyway, get custom tunes and a valve body from jw or bts, you will be plenty happy with shifts and power then

Just to let you know the trans command would have be installed within a few inches of the trans on passenger side near where the harness comes out of the trans.

Mine was screwed to the pinch weld about where Jack said it should be. Look for a loose cable with a jumper installed in it. That's where the box would have been.
