4inch exhaust or 5inch

Hey I was planning on putting a 5inch exhaust on my OBS to reduce back pressure and to pave the way for more mods here in the future. My buddy said he had the 5inch and cause the turbo to get air due to lack of back pressure? Is there any truth to this or has anyone had a 5inch with any troubles or feedback. Let me know guys so I not waste some money!! thanks

96 7.3 F350, 4x4, 5 speed, 6 inch skyjacker lift, 35 12.50 M/T Baja Atz, custom TW 6 pos, Banks Intercooler, BDP experimental fuel system, banks double shot water meth, Chromoly Push Rods, Swamps IDM Mod, 2nd Gen Wicked Wheel, Stage II AFE cold air intake, Down Piped 5 inch Diamond Eye exhaust, Gauges, ladder bars, upgrades drives lines yokes, on board air system, triple trumpet train horns, smoked head light and taillight housings, and 55watt HID kit!!

The guy is an idiot. Diesels need as little back pressure as possible.

The turbo creates all the back pressure you need, agreed your friend is not all there up stairs

I have noticed a different sound between the 4 and 5 inch, 4 is more whistle, 5 is more roar. on the subject of back pressure, you should look into that as much as you look into the spark plugs on your truck or a radiator for a 60's vw.....
