Beans or TW Chip?
i own a 95 powerstoke 7.3 auto trans with 199,000 miles
the truck has a diamond eye turbo back straight pipe exhaust and diy 46637 intake Im planning on pulling my injectors and sending them to rosewood for a rebuild to stage 1 specs Also will be getting gauges egt, trans temp and boost before the injectors and chip Ive narrowed it down to beans and Tony wildman tunes was wondering which would make more horsepower and just overall run better? I dont tow with the truck just my fun truck Also how much horsepower should i be expecting to make with these mods? Any input is appreciated thanks |

I have tw for a chip and love it, but it's apples to apples here, both do great tunes, know very much about these trucks, and I know tw does lifetime free reburns, and with these mods I would also look into an hpop, but if your going stage 1 from rosewood go ahead and get 2's cost the same anyway

thought u didnt need a hpop with stage 1's?
Dont u need an intercooler and hpop with 2's? How much hp will stage 1's make ? |

Not sure on hp, never been on a dyno and still not a good guesser lol, but you can keep the 2's de-tuned till you have the IC too, and a good healthy stock 15* hpop should support 1's, but I would rather be sure on my hpop's health, a rebuild or stock 17* from a late 99-03 sd would be best good luck tho

Btw my stock hpop has a hard time keeping up with my stock injectors

If the hpop couldnt handle the ones would the truck just be down on power?

It will throw a code every time you get on it, get a scan tool or gauge to figure out your duty cycle and percentage, that should tell you hpop health, I also have split shots which demand more, and they are larger (120 cc vs 90cc)

thanks for all the info
probably gonna try it without getting a hpop and if it throws codes then i will buy one and put it in |

That being said i agree with Kris, get the stage 2's, and when talking with your tuner have him de-tune them to stage 1's. You will be thankful when you want more power and dont have to upgrade injectors to do so. I prefer Tony for my tunes, he is one of the best 7.3 tuners out there, has great customer service, and he has free reburns for life. Your stock hpop should keep up with stage 1s if its in good shape, but an upgrade to a T500 is a great investment. You will need it if you ever decide to bump up the sticks. |

thanks for the advice
I decided to go with stage 2's and have them detuned like you guys have mentioned am going to run the stock hpop for now and see if it can handle it if not will buy one Also going to go with tw as well cause of the free reburns so when i want more power the chip will be free thanks for all the advice guys |
