need more power!

I'm new to the forum and hoping someone out there can give me some good feedback. Here's what I've got so far: '95 psd xcab, 3" downpipe, 3" exhaust, cold air intake, superchips programmer, exhaust temp, tranny temp and boost gauges, auto tranny. My question: I am not satified with the superchips tuner, I am thinking about a set of stage 1 injectors from beans or dpp and a multiposition chip from tony wildman, ts, or dp. Reliability is a must, this is a daily driver working truck. Am I heading in the right direction to get some real power from this truck? I want this thing to have some guts! Or should I be looking at a quick turbo housing? How will this effect my egts?

i think the custom tune or TS tune would be a great idea. You might want to kick the injector idea around a little though since you have the smaller, non intercooled turbo. You may want to go further than just injectors when you do it. You might find out that your origional idea is the thing you want to do in the end.....but do some research there first......

if you go with stage 1's and a TW chip your reliability shouldnt suffer, bout the only thing you'll hurt is the tranny if its not in good shape. Also with the larger injectors your egt's may be higher while towing and rodding around so you also might want to look into an intercooler aswell.

If I did the custom chip with no injectors, will I see a lot more power than with the superchips tuner I currently have? I heard the stock injectors for 94-97 psd limit the amount of power the tuners and chips could produce?
Also, if I do the stage 1 injectors, I was thinking about the remanufactered ones vs. the new to save some money. Are the remans. as reliable?

OH yea, you would see a ton more usable power out of even a generic TS chip, and with a custom tune you would get the most available, usable power for your truck with no other mods...

Yeah, 3" exhaust, actually 3 1/2" (measured it yesterday) It's stock except the 3" downpipe and cat has been deleted. 5" exhaust is coming soon.

Ok, so if I go with a better chip I'll see a lot more power, what about if I combine the chip with a quick turbo housing? Are those housings a good mod for these trucks? They seem like a good idea if you just have a tuner.?!? My first call about a week ago was to Banks performance. They said to combine their quick turbo housing with their big hoss stage 4 100hp module and it would make a very noticable difference and keep the egt's at an acceptable level. Also, is there a difference between banks quick turbo (besides the high price) and the others all over the internet?

if you plan on doing injectors id stray away from the quick turbo housing. It will create higher backpressure and boost due to it being a smaller exhaust housing. I believe all the quick spool housings similar, ive seen .84a/r and 1.0 a/r housings. banks is much higher priced than the rest. Im not sure exactly how much power you'll gain from a good chip, i do know it will be a good improvement.

my truck sounds pretty similar to yours, except i have a stick, and i started out with a Superchip programmer and was dissapointed in it as well. now i went to a TS 6 pos chip and it made a HUGE difference, it is like driving a totally different truck, WAY more power and throttle response. i have been thinking about a quick spool turbo upgrade too, bigred69 has one and he said it made a big difference, they are alot cheaper than upgrading the whole turbo.

Well, I ordered a ts 6 position chip today and also a banks quick turbo housing. The guy at banks told me their quick turbo housing is ported polished for better flow and is not physically smaller. (he sold me, I'll give it a shot!!) Sam, I'll let you know how the turbo housing works. The chip should be here first, so I'll run the truck a couple of days before I swap the turbo housing, then see what kind of difference it makes. I decieded against the injectors because I was worried about egts, cost, and installation. I may still add them dow the road, but I think I'm going to see a big difference from where i am now . Thanks for all the info!
