UPGRADING TURBINE HOUSING ?

HEY GUYS I HAVE A STOCK TURBO AND WAS THINKING ABOUT CHANGING IT TO A INDUSTRIAL INJECTION .84 TURBINE HOUSING OR 1.00 TURBINE HOUSING

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY ?

AND WHAT WOULD I GAIN ON A 97 7.3 TUNED AND STRAIGHT PIPED WITH 1.5 A INJECTORS ? ANY MPG FROM IT ?

caps lock is a terrible tool, but you will increase your spool time and have less lag by decreasing your exhaust housing, but when going with larger injectors and a smaller exhaust housing you increase your egt's by a lot, and that is bad, you should also look into an intercooler if this is the route you wish to go, otherwise stick to either injectors or the smaller housing, not both, good luck

lol, i have less then $200 in my IC set up, and you shouldnt get a bigger turbo kause lag will set in hard kause you dont have enough fuel to spin it, all i am saying is if you go smaller housing sticks wont be needed, if you did both then you have to watch your EGT's more often kause more fuel=more boost=higher egt's and over spinning the turbo, so do the housing now, when you get injectors go back to a stock housing if you do stage 1's or 1.5's if you go stage 2 then get a D66 turbo, and so on and so forth, but you should look into an intercooler if you decide to tow much and want that kinda fuel and boost going

ok thanks i know you can use a 6.0 intercooler but can you use the piping off of a later model 7.3 also what else can i do to lower egt's it is a work truck that is why i did not do stage 2 injectors i have a intake and 3" dp cat and muffler are deleted also this may be a stupid question but would a d66 turbo help lower the egt's when towing even though it may have some lag

What injectors do you have? if they are stock and you put a D66 turbo on, your EGT would go up due to the lack of fuel to lite the turbo, thus lugging the truck causing higher EGT

Do not put a smaller housing on the turbo, a D66 should work really well with them
