This is my first post on here. Been a member on PSN for years. Anyways i git a '97eclb 4x4 auto (new from ford still under warranty) with 4.10 gears. I have just recieved a tymar intake ,ts 6chipp, and 5" diamond eye turbo back w/6" tip. Intake will be installed tomorrow. Exhaust n chip in this weekend. With the exhaust. I thought i made it clear i wanted a no muffler kit. I got one with a muffler. So i will run it like that for a little wile. Then ill change it out to a no muffler exit b4 rear tire setup and see what i like better. Its a dd for now but i saving for a jetta tdi to turn into my work commuter. Will b ordering guages real soon. I have 4.10s. It. Spent its life with a slide in bed camper. The lady raced harleys in the NHRA. Truck has 170,000 on it when i bought it. Its got 4" lift and brand new mastercraft a/t2 305 70 16s. Do i still need 4.10s? How much of a pain is it to swap out gears if need be? With it as is stock im seeing 14-15mpg. What can i expect as a gain with the basic 3 done? Wile im here i notice when i fill up the front tank it leaks a little. Do i replace whole tank?

An 8000lbs truck with 4.10s won't ever see good mpg. Where is the tank leaking from? I can give you the name of a member here to pm about it, he faced the leaking tank problem forever and finally fixed it, but I don't know what was the final fix for it.

I love my 4.10s would change them at all and i run 33ish" tires 305/70s are 32.8" basically a metric 33.

as for changing gears if it is your first time pay someone to do it and ask if you can watch. you need the gears and a bunch of "special" tools (special here meaning most guys don't have them)

14-15 mpg is not bad for a lifted truck with oversized tires. did you take into account that your speedo/odometer might be slightly off with the larger tires? about 3% over stock. you want better mpgs put it back to stock height with stock tires.

adding the basic 3 will net you maybe 1-2 mpg if you drive like a grandpa. gauges are a good idea glad they are on the list. you should also look into custom tunes they are much better than standard ts tunes
