Which Gauges?
Looking to get a 3 gauge cluster on the pillar for my truck. Would prefer to get autometer gauges but there are so many different styles to go with I dont know what to choose. I am for sure going to get Boost and EGT. Not sure what to get for the 3rd gauge. I am already planning on doing tranny temp but itll be below the dash because I will not have an auto in my truck forver. Also any tips on installing the gauges would be appreciated too. I'm not exactly sure where everything runs to. And do the autometer gauges come with all the wires and everything else?

Autometer gauges SHOULD come with everything needed to run those gauges, but read to make sure.
What did you need help on installing??? Yes I'd do boost trans and pyro w/out a doubt. FP and HPOP if your feeling special. |

I installed some Auto Meters in my buddy's Super Duty a few years back, the install was pretty straight forward. His wifey bought him a kit from some online retailer and he was too chicken sh!t to do the install himself so I gave him a hand lol.
Anywho the gauges he bought came with directions on what needs to go where and the kit from the company had all the wiring, we just had to put it all together. We built a wiring harness for the lights, some companies do this for you (its pretty simple). I tap into the back side of the fuse panel for power and illumination; this way it's nearly a factory looking install. |

I thought about a 4 pillar but when I put a 5 speed in my truck I want to just be able to remove the trans temp gauge without having to remove the pillar and then replace that hole with another gauge.
I've never done gauges before so Im trying to get enough info before I order the kit and start tearing apart my truck to put them in. Also what ranges do yall recommend the gauges to cover? Last edited by judgesblind; 10-17-2012 at 07:43 AM. |

for what gauges? Boost at 40-50psi (injectors will be over 30psi).
pyro: 1500* trans temp 220* FP: 70psi HPOP: only 1 real gauge option. |

Are the ISS pro gauges reliable quality? I know that the Glowshift gauges are generally disliked but for a daily driver the ISS pros would be good?

I have glowshifts, and if you just want information for the daily driver they should work. If you are using the truck for performance you may want to get something more reliable. I have not had any problems but from what I read they are not made to tight standards, but work. Very good website and good instructions.
