Okay.... So if i wanted to replace my turbo?

So, ive been doing some thinking...
Since im going to add a 3" dp, to a 4" exhaust, and adding an intercooler from an '00 PSD...

If I wanted to swap my OEM turbo for a gt38 from the same donor '00 PSD... What would i need to have/do to make it work? as i notice the gt38's are waste gated and ours are not... the only mod i have done so far is the 6637...

Still 100% stock, stats below in sig... Workin on my 96 right now

Pretty sure you would need the 00' uppipes to the turbo including the manifolds the turbo pedestal with orings and 3" plenemns

So how would i beable to hook up the vacum to the wastegate on the turbo?

turbomaster would be the easiest and is adjustable. Search for it in the SD forums.

sometimes its about the "cool" factor plus the IC swap will prolly go much easier if the plenums and everything is already there

ya but it's just a waste of time any money. If your gonna spend money, at least get an upgraded turbo that will work on the OBS, and actually give you some gains.

^^^ kinda agree with him but not in the. D I C K ish way he did. The SD turbo isnt an upgrade form the OBS turbo. Its a level move. If u want more low end spool, install a 1.0 housing from beans. If your gonna spend that time in changing all that stuff out, got to a t4 kit from irate. It my not be in your budget right now, but look into it an you will see the benifit. That will also give u a wide selection of turbos to choose from, instead of just a few.

So my vote is take everything u can off the truck, use what u can and sell what u cant. To intercool your obs you will need a E99 spyder. If u install the 00 spyder with the 3" plenumbs, the spyder will not adapt to your turbo unless u swap everything, which like i stated b4, isnt a gain for you.

I wasnt trying to be a jerk sorry if i came off that way. But if you got all that stuff for a real good price it could be worth it. If you wanted to upgrade to the t4 mount in the future at least the plenums are there already plus all the intercooler stuff is there
