Whats needed to get 500hp +?

Hey guys i was wondring what kinda set ups would work to be reaching 500 hp if not more ?

A lot of work and a lot of money. Why 500hp? What do you plan to do?

intake, exhaust, HPOP (or two), fuel system, turbo, injectors, tunes. not needed but strongly recommmended IC, Gauges, IDM mod. somewhere in there you will destroy your trans and will need a built one

if you want it to produce 500 HP and live, and be able to get it all on the ground, you need about $15,000 buks, the serious desire to build a truck that's different, a good supply of patience, and the mechanical ability to do a good share of the work yourself.....

You can get there around 4k but you will need a tranny to back it up

4,000 ain't anywhere near enough to get you there, because at that level, you will NEED things like springs, studs, and a good Ic bigger plenums, etc, and all those parts add up

400hp would be doable, but not 500, and anybody that sez different has never done it.

i think you can get there for a little over 5K but i don't think anything will last.

I agree... I would say $6k you would dyno a 500HP truck. Reliability is another issue, as is the trans. BUT as I said in another post its not like you going to be running all over town putting all that power to the pavement. More than likely you would be running it tuned down...
