intercooler piping

well i just picked up a 6.0 intercooler for $50 and was thinking i would make my own pipes. so what have some of u guys used to build ur piping? exhaust pipe? universal kit? iifc a guy was talking about pvc?

also i remember reading in a thread a while back but now i cant find it someone was talkin about moving the map line to eliminate turbo lag when installed thier intercooler. anyone know where this is?

imo it would be easier to buy a set of pipes for 200 iirc then try to make them yourself

well i got alot more time than money lol. that and i can work on them while im at work and the shop at work has quiet a bit as far as tools. im just looking for cheap options as far as materials.

i got it off ebay. i bought one for 100 bucks a few months ago. then sold it for 150

i dont plan to half ** it at all. just cuz im building them myself doesnt mean im gonna half** it. it just means i dont have a couple hundred bucks laying around to waste on intercooler pipes.

pvc cracks very easily and I doubt will stand up to the temps and stress of IC duty. And I'll bet money you'll never be able to get a good enough seal on it to hold 30+ psi of boost. PVC cracks just trying to clamp a clamp on it to hold the 6637 filters on, and from the heat/cold underhood.. I cant fathom using it for an IC.

i never said i was planning on using pvc, i was just stating that i had heard someone talkin about it before and that i was looking for what diff options i have for intercooler pipe materials.

Its not that bad, around 60.00-80.00 in tubing and the rest is just time.Here the one we did for mine
