I found a ts 6 position online with stock tunes for $238. I seen someone on here say PHP had custom tunes on a 6 position for $300. Of course I would go with the custom tunes.

But my quesiton is, what real advantage does custom tunes have on the OBS trucks because of the stock injectors being so limited on power.

I plan to upgrade in the next week or 2. I already have a 3.5" DP to a 4" straight pipe exhaust. No gauges yet, there next right after the chip then a IC.

You should only see around a 80hp gain on a stock single shot truck, alittle more with AB injectors. I have a ts right now with basic tunes on my ab injectored truck and i love it

You will tell a TON of difference on a stock injector truck with custom tunes. There is so much more a good tuner can adjust with even the smallest modification.

Not to mention that custom tunes have a lot better transmission response than a generic tune.

Custom tunes do a ton. There are so many different timing variables, fueling maps, and sensors that you can tweak on these motors.

Its not just power, but driveability. Php has awesome tuning especially for automatic trucks.

I dont know about stock ts tunes but canned edge tunes feel crude. My wildman tow tune feels like how the truck was supposed to be from the factory. Great egts control light smoke and super smooth driving.

I don't like my PHP tunes for my automatic truck. I'm trying to get a set of tunes from Tyrant.

I like my PHP Chip,just wish the shifts weren't so harsh.

could you please elaborate as to why you don't like the tunes? I was strongly considering PHP for mine (auto tranny, stock injectors/hpop, 6637 filter and turbo-back exhaust) but I keep hearing TW or Beans is the way to go with these trucks.

Is it harsh all the time or only on certain tunes? Which gears are harsh, all of them? Do you have stock valvebody?

I have a 5 speed so shifting won't be a problem.
