pulling the trigger on chip

Hey guys, ive decided to order a chip tonight.

I have a basically stock truck, exhaust intake and guages.

I am going to buy the php 300$ chip and have it upgraded to a custom chip when i get injectors later down the road.

my question is, can i buy a cheapo 230$ chip off ebay, and have php burn that chip later on down the road?

or will they only be able to re-burn there chip.

if i could save my self 70$ and put it towards the custom tunes later on it would be awesome, right now I dont need great tuning considering my truck is all stock, and my injectors are my limitation by far.

also another question, what do these trucks make for WHP with an intake and exhaust and tuner, basically how much power can the stock injectors actually make? i know they are a huge restriction.

thanks again guys!

the custom tuners should all (with the exception of DP) be able to burn a TS chip. intake, exhaust, chip i would guess somewhere around 250-270 RWHP

Hey guys, a few more questions, my injectors being stock, what tunes should I pick?

i can get 6 of them..

STOCK - Reverts your truck back to the stock program
HIGH IDLE - Great for cold weather starts
VALET - maximum speed of 70mph
50HP
75HP
100HP
140+ EXTREME
ANTI-THEFT - Truck will not start in this position

will I be able to tell a difference between the 75 and 100hp tune? will the 140 extreme be any different?

thanks guys!

Always opt for the highest fueled tune.. ie a 140hp burn. Dont bother with those stupid 50hp settings and 70hp settings.

Well without Inj's you will NEVER see more than 40HP maybe 50 at the max with any tune on a single shot OBS .

Also IMO HP figures for tunes is silly as every truck is different, whats needed is the best performance-tune for a specific use-setting..like:

Stock
Economy
Daily
Tow
Heavy tow
Street
Extreme
High Idle
Sled pull

This is why Tony doesn't list HP settings..its just advertizing...
