Was getting on it, now problems
Ok so my truck, 144k miles. Stage 1 injectors and ts performance chip. I've recently had the trans rebuilt but it been giving me problems with a wining noise and shifting too early into 3rd gear. But I'm taking the truck back when I get back to town. Anyways so I had the chip in extreme. And I was getting on her pretty good. The check engine light came on which it's done before in that setting. I let off and coast to the stop sign , and as i am coasting the truck idles back down then idles lower, like as on it's about to stall. I stop and the Rpms come back up to what it is normally. My question is does this sound like a motor problem or trans? I'm thinking it has to do with the torque converter problem. The trans shop claims they put In a new tc but I'm not sure. I'm hoping it's the trans as it's under warranty.sorry for any newb questions, and thanks in advanced for any help!

Sounds to me like you are running out of fuel or your hpop can't keep up.

I had half a tank. So I think I'm good there, the hpop is stock along with the fuel system. Maybe time to upgrade, I guess I just need to further diagnose

I don't mean that you where out of fuel, I meant that your stock fuel pump can't keep up.

Ok I see where your coming from now, but I also forgot to say it does it's all the time now , like when I slow down for a stop light or getting off the highway, I let off the gas and it just idles down to normal, then idles slower like it's going to stall then goes back to normal

I had a "fluttering" idle for a while. Actually died at the stop light and in the MIDDLE of an intersection. It could be you need a new CPS. Camshaft Positioning Sensor. I just replaced mine yesterday and there was a noticeable difference in idle + startup
It doesnt hiccup when on the gas? |

Or the torque convertor may not be releasing it sounds like...

thats what im hoping, because the tc should be under warranty

Well check the code first. I'll bet is an icp code for insufficient hpop pressure. How low are the RPMs going?

Tell as a code and well tell you a diagnosis. Code when stepping on it could be fuel oil or CPs. Cps could also cause the fluttering idle.
