Tranny temp gauge test

Basically does anybody know how to do a tranny temp gauge test?? Its electric it constantly keeps going up even when cruising any ideas and any ideas what might be the cause if this,doesn't fix the issue my next step is to replace the cooler any help would be greatly apprciated

Check your wiring. I bet that's what it is. UNLESS the trans just really is that hot. Have you felt it?
You could put the probe in some hot water with another thermometer to verify temp.

I 'll bet you hooked it up wrong,I did the same thing and mine kept going up until I wired it right.
