D66 going in this weekend!
so boys, the time has come! (well, almost).
sunday is the big day, the d66 will be going in. the box came with the new turbo assembly, a new uppipe gasket thingy, and 4 o-rings (2 sizes, 2 of each size.). will i need anything else for this install?? is there a pedistal o-ring i should replace? also a few questions on removal/install. here is what i am planning on doing: 1. park truck when i get home at 6am and open oil drain. 2. spray the up pipe and pedistal bolts with some wd40 or number 5 3. go to sleep for a few hours 4. remove intake 5. disconect ebpv actuator, remove epbv and downpipe 6. unbolt up pipe collector from turbo 7. unbolt pedistal 8. remove turbo/pedistal assembly 9. unbolt turbo from pedistal 10. clean pedistal, put new orings on, fill d66 w/ oil and bolt d66 to pedistal 11. bolt pedistal to block 12. reconnect up pipe collector to volute housing after putting in new gasket 13. reconnect ebpv valve and actuator 14. reconnect downpipe 15. reinstall intake 16. new oil filter, new fuel filter, fill truck with oil 17. start truck 18. plaster grin on face 19. drive truck entheusiastically all of this while taking lots of pictures and notes in order to make a nice little sticky for everyone who dares to follow in my footsteps on the d66 (or any stock configuration turbo for that matter). let me know any flaws in my process, any tips, and if anyone has a list of tools ill need, ill be forever indebted to them! thanks. -Brandon |
