AFE stage II

So im getting ready to buy the AFE stage II with the pro guard 7 filter. I was looking at getting a pre-filter for it too. My question is it worth it? in my mind it is, to keep the big stuff out of the filter, and water replant just for some water if it makes it that far. what do you guys think? how much will it restrict flow?

Most of us stay away from the clean and oil gauze type filters especially if you live in a dusty area. A lot of people (myself included) use a 6637 filter and a short 4" 45* piece of exhaust pipe for a Diy air intake for under $75. Read these which air intake???? and K&N filter kit - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com I know it's not a K&n but same thing. If you are set on using the AFE the prefilter should not cause any restriction unless it gets really clogged.

Did you read the links above? Constant maintenance plus a tendency to let to much fine grit through which can lead to turbo dusting

Is there a tube from the filter to the turbo, or from the filter to the 4'' 45 to the stock tube to turbo?
