installing a Chip
Anyone know of a vid or write up on installing a chip from inside the cab by removing the E-brake?

No real need for a vid or clip. I just did mine, it is three bolts, 13 mm i think. E brake comes off computer is right there. Disconnect battery. Pull off the black plastic piece. clean the board, scratch lightly with screwdriver, wipe with thinner, I used alcohol and a q tip. Install chip, slides right on. If it is a 6 pos ts then route your switch to were you want it and enjoy. Took maybe 45 minutes.

Probably much easier than going through the fender. I did that a month ago and a real PITA. Good luck!

I have only installed one chip, but I took the pcm out, it seemed like a lot better way to me to make sure everything was clean.

pulling the pcm is the best way. i took mine apart and re-tinned the contacts on the board. works flawlessly. u won't have any problems of "did i clean them enough" ?
![]() it only takes a couple of minutes to pull it - use a prybar to "persuade" the inner fender a little out the way and it slides right out. |
