Is my chip bad?

I just bought my 95 7.3. It has a ts 6 position chip in it. Do I need to shut the truck off before switching because it feels the same on all the settings except high idle. I cant tell a differance between stock or 75hp. Just wondering if chip may be fried or I'm just using it wrong. Thanks in advance.

No it's shift on the fly. If they are generic tunes, you should feel some difference. But you might not have enough HPO, fuel, air, or big enough injectors to get anything from it.

The only mods are the TS 6 position chip with generic tunes, air filter mod, 4" exhaust. Trans has triple disc converter billet input and output shafts and valve body upgraded.
