Hot Shot additive

Has anyone ever used hot shot secret additive in their truck? It's suppose to clean the injectors. I've also heard of people running rev-x in their truck. Anyone have any experience with additives. I don't want to put something in my powerstroke that will damage it.

I don't think either will hurt you engine. Rev-X seems to be the more popular of the two. The other thing to consider is that most of the time, these products are used in the 6.0L to deal with injector stiction issues. Not much has been said about the effectiveness they have on 7.3Ls.

You could be the guy to test one of the products and report back on how it works on 7.3L.

its not just for the 6.0.... it was designed for IH engines in general with our kind of fuel system....

a guy at work put it in his 6.0 and saw results... i ran REV-X in my 7.3 and saw results so..... 6 one way half a dozen another

Thanks for that - Good to know. I've thought about getting some Rev-X, but as I stated earlier, hadn't heard much about it in 7.3Ls. Now I need to save up for some.

hot shot,i tried it, i only used it once and im still having trouble with two injectors during warmup. it may work but it didnt for me. i was thinking about trying it again though.

nothing will fix mechanical issues unless they are fixed... the addative is only to fix the problem of stickey injectors.... if that is your problem

I would be highly against pouring any substance in my crankcase other than a 15w40 Shella Rotella Motor oil. These injectors are powered by your oil, so it doesn't seem like the best option.

you can use this...... its actually recomended on powerstroke engines. i trust lucas oils

I use the black label Lucas in my rotella also I think it makes a noticeable difference
