Injector+Turbo Questions

Hey All, new here but not new to my truck or to forums. Trying this forum out due to low traffic at another forum I (used to?) frequent.


From all that I have read on the subject, it seems that it's a 50/50 split on what turbo to run with stage 1 injectors.
Here's my current setup:
-'97 4x4, ZF5
-Truck is a daily driver, averaging 19.xx mpg
-I tow a max of 10k pounds, maybe once or twice a month
-Drive up to 3.5 hours at a time on frequent trips
-All stock except modified IDM, DP Tuner, Tymar intake, straight piped, 203* thermostat, Autometer Gauges, Southbend clutch.

I'm about 2 or 3 weeks away from hitting 250k miles so I want to give my truck a gift, in the way of stage 1 injectors and addressing the aging turbo.
I've read that the stage ones won't effect my mpg as long as I don't drive like a bat outta hell...

Down the road planning for the truck are:
-Performance HPOP
-Intercooler
-Upgraded fuel system

I don't want to install anything that will be detrimental to the fuel economy or longevity of the truck.

welcome to the org, i say go with the d66 turbo, if u think you need a new/rebuilt one anyway, mite as well upgrade lol, i like how your first post is a poll lol

d66 is a nice turbo and the stages ones will work well with it. thats what i have in my truck right now its a nice set up. mpg wont change as long as your driving style doesnt, but its hard to stay out of it. If i dont get crazy my mpg is better then when i was stock. but if you start playing you will see it drop after a weekend of racing and playing on my hot tune i lost 3mpg but it was fun lol

If you are replacing, definately upgrade. I would do this all in one shot if you can swing the $$.

D66
T500 HPOP
Intercooler

If you are towing, you will definately want the IC as soon as you can otherwise all that nice power you have will sit on the back burner cuz your EGT's are too high, if you dont have guages, get them
