no perfomance gain over the 4" just a deeper sound with the 5"..... a 12" tip??? really??? just my O2... that will look, im not gonna, well........ just dont do it..... get a nice 6" inch tip or 7" MAX, you wont gain that much mellow sound from a tip... a little yes
BTW welcome to the ORG. names Frank |

Hey frank I'm Caleb thanks
The tips still a maybe my friend has it on his cummins (looks kinda good actually) and he's getting a 15 don't ask me why I think hes over compensating and he said he may just give it to me for free but what about the cat? If I keep the cat will she still smoke? Will it effect my performance? Sorry new to diesel I had an old ranger and it was just an offroad animal and I work in a body shop (we had collision repair at our school) I decided to get an OBS cause I love them but they're all beat up around here but thanks Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app |

I have 5" and the sound is awsome, very deep and can really hear the turbo whistle. I can't say how it compares to 4", at least straight piped 4". Also don't know anything about emissions test as I don't have to do one. Please keep is simple with a 6" tip. They look good see:

that does look good I probably will go with a 6" or 7" and I live in Texas I just heard I have to have a cat from my friend with his diesel but do you get a drone from 5"? I hear it drones in the cab at highway speeds

It kind of does. I hardly ever drive my truck outside of town, once or twice a year, maybe. I only put 1000 miles a year on my truck on the high side. Why don't you just put your cat back in when you have it inspected, problem solved. I would go with the 5" for the sound, you won't gain any performance out of it, but the sound is just amazing and not really that much more.

alright so 5? right on on the tip wheres a good place for a cheap tip? i dont wana spend $100 on a tip from rbp or spider so yeah but our muffler shop in town (where im getting it done) only has up to 5in tips availible because around here its mostly gas trucks and any diesels in town have huge stacks so yeah

I can't help ya there spent $80 on mine, its double wall and stainless. I am sure you could find a single wall chrome tip.

I have a 4" Diamond Eye system on my truck. 3" DP to the cat and then 4" back from that with a 5" tip I got for free. It sounds awesome! The cat is there for inspections, but it has been punched out so it acts essentially as a straight pipe.

if you have to have the truck emissions tested then gut the cat and leave it on the truck. other than that, put a 3 inch downpipe from the turbo to the cat and run 5 inch after the cat. i havent heard a 5 inch straight pipe 7.3 but i think theyre supposed to be way throatier.
