Injectors, turbo, HPOP, tunes, exhaust.

Big smoke without power to go with it is just redneck rice... no different than those ricers that put big spoilers and fancy wheels and hood scoops and huge exhaust on their cars without doing anything to the engine.

Don't get me wrong, I love thick black diesel smoke, but ya gotta be able to back it up.

well there has got to be some way to turn up the fuel or the boost????? there is tricks out there i just need to know them???? and kingsford cost to much.....lol

To "roll coal" with a 95-97 truck is going to take LOTS OF MONEY.

#1. Injectors

To make any POWER with said injectors is going to take LOTS MORE MONEY.

#1. High pressure oil pump
#2. Turbocharger

To get the power to the ground is going to take MORE MONEY STILL.

#1. New transmission (if you have an automatic).

My take on this..
Stage 1's will pour plenty smoke with tunes, if more needed add a smoke tune.
Stock turbo will live a long time and cheap to rebuild.
17* pump is all thats required
IC will be needed or EGT's will get out of control.
If your trans is in good shape a BTS VB and a 6.0 Tq converter will help it last.

My 97 with PHP tunes, Adrenaline HPOP, 6637 intake, 4" exhaust, stock injectors, stock turbo, on the tow tune put out by no means "coal" but enough smoke to make me grin. Since before the tunes...absolutely no smoke. Besides "rollin coal" is just a way to piss off all the wrong people! Why do you think we have all this emissions crap on the new trucks! To make good power...you don't need smoke! My .02.

like ct performance said,you need money dude...there is no way to make that truck roll coal without proper mods...i tried everything!!! finally i put stage 1 inj,17*hpop,TW TUNES,gutted pedistal,fpr shim,6637 filter,DP,

get you about 1500 together and get you a chip and sticks,rosewoods are 500$ depending on the age of your sticks,TW TUNES are 500$.well worth it...

and on a mental note i keep stored away for just such a question/advice,,,dont ask how to roll coal on here,you will get replies such as"fill the bed with diesel fuel and grab a match"" or "pour fuel directly in your turbo" ask how to make power,the coal comes with power...some people beleive that our black smoke is killing dolphins and whales and such,so they restrict us.the above will make it haul azz and pour black smoke,nothin you try will acheive this

if you think about it the only 2 things about "rolling coal" is pulling next to a ricer with his window down and making sure your tail pipe is right there then reving her up and laugh.... or just to create attention. Other then that its about raw power.
