Tell me what you think about this combo.

So Im thinkin about puttin gauges(egt, boost, tranny temp) along with an mbrp turbo back 4 inch exhaust, an intake and a dp-tuner on my 95 stroker. Does this sound like a reliable combination? Can I put exhaust and intake on pre-tune and run ok? and last, any experience with cold starts? temperatures nearing 0 but not often?

Last is this a better idea than going with a banks kit? I know this site tends to lean away from banks, but I just want to make sure my truck stays reliable. thanks!

I'd say that sounds like a good combo.. as long as you do it in that order. Make sure you have gauges before you add a tuner or chip.

Also, yes, you can add the intake and exhaust without a chip. You will see some small gains just from doing that.

Banks has good products.. they also have high prices. That's just my take.

in the older body styles like your you cant fit a 4'' dp unless you got like a 3'' body lift but a 3'' dp is the biggest you can get. your truck will stay very reliable with an intake chip and exhaust just keep your foot out of it

Sounds like a good plan to me. 97 is right about the 4" downpipe. Won't fit unless you modify the firewall or do a body lift.

Interesting...whats the best way to control boost levels? new waste gate actuator? and does any one have any experience with mbrp exhaust? they make a turbo back that goes from a 3" downpipe and then expands to 4 inch to the rear of the truck.
