Suggested Chip/Intake

Im getting a 96 with a manual trans. it already has a straight pipe, i was going to put gauges, intake and a chip in it right away. What intake and chip do you guys suggest. This is the first Diesel that i have owned, although i have a degree in Diesel Tech. i guess its about time to get my own PSD
Thanks

yep go with a tony wildman or a php (power hungry performance) chip and do the 6637 filter witch is very easy to do.
Stay away from k&n filters and "off the shelf" chips like bullydog, banks, and edge

I put an AFE Stage II cold air intake on my 96. sounds great if you like the whistle!! be carefull if you put an edge evolution 15000 programmer on it. i bought mine for $300 and thought i was gettin a good deal instead of 800 for the Tony Wildman custom chip. had the edge on my truck for an hour of driving time and my PCM went out. got a new PCM it and it runs good. next time I'll go with a custom chip. they cost more but i think they'd be worth it

Tony just posted above you. His chips are $475 for 6 positions. You can go to his website "Total Diesel Performance" or a vendor on here sells them too. Raul@StealthAutomotive

What gauges do you guys suggest??? I was going to get a Pyro and Boost. Is there anything else i should look into. Also i was told that shiming the FPR had minimal gains and was hard on injectors. Is this true? Is it worth doing?
Thanks again for the help
