Banks Transcommand

Hey guys,

Anybody running a transcommand? is it noticeable? is $100? I do tow a fair bit hauling the old tractors around. Just found one on sale, clearence. Figured maybe it was worth pickin up. Truck in questions is a 96 f250, auto of course. 312 000kms, tranny still shifts nice, just recently serviced and shock flushed.

Thanks for your time

Ps i did search but all i got was topics about banks intakes and turbos

My truck had one when I bought it.

I ended up blowing it up with a small bomb....seriously.

I will have to find the video of that and post it up

GAAAAAAH! Don't say "bomb" on the internet!

Seriously tho', I never had one. I had 2 friends that did and it did nothing good for them, ever.

I just had a banks torque converter and transcommand installed . I've only done a bit of city driving. so far it feels really great. I'm stoked.

What's all this bad press? Stories?

Thanks.

Well, most PPL that have had them that I know have found that they really do little to improve the performance and durability of the trans. I've never had one myself ( and never will ) so they might be of value to someone who isn't interested in performance. Most of the modern chip PPL include programming that greatly exceeds that of the transcommand. Even my old BD (not Bully Dog) chip did more for my TX. YMMV. Still, I'd pass
