ANTI DRAIN BACK???? QUESTIONS,17*HPOP ANTI DRAINBACK????

I HAVE a 95 and i have a 17* hpop on there,ive heard that the anti drain back thing needs to be corrected for the 95..err somthin. what are the effects of not havin a anti drain back and how do i correct it???

iirc the oil drains out of the resesiviour back into the tank, so before it starts back up the lpop has to fill it back up, so you have a long crank time

i dang sure do have a long crank time.i never did before this hpop.it will start then go dead,and run fine after that.i fully rebuilt the engine,all new sensors and everything.so i know this is what it is.how do i correct it???

Send your 15° and 17° pumps to Joey at Terminator Engineering. He can swap the 17° guts into the 15° housing so that the anti-drainback feature in the pump is retained. On the later truck the anti-drainback is in the reservoir.

okay,how do i swap it myself??? what do they put in the adrenaline to make it the adrenaline? can i just swap the resevoir off a 2000 model? surley this can be done without sending anything in

You can't just swap the reservoir, you have to swap the whole front cover, which requires pulling the motor and removing the oil pan. I don't know what Joey charges to swap the guts, but his charge for modding a 17° is real fair so I'd imagine his charge to swap guts is also. Not very many people have had any luck disassembling an HPOP without destroying it.
