OBS injector Q's

hey guys been doing some reading here and on other sites about replacing injectors . I have one concern i have a banks quick spool housing on my 96 and was told not to put bigger injectors at all. Do the EGTs get to high? I was to about AC and BD injectors ? are these worth looking into or just do some stage 1's from rosewood

without supporting mods just do stage ones if you have your stock housing you can put it back on if your egt's look to high i see you have gauges where is your egt probe located?

even with stage Is ull prolly blow that turbo apart. specially with that quick spool housing. i was pushing 38-40psi with my stage Is for about 3 months then the stocker let go.

thanks guys what supporting mods like hpop and electric fuel? Dirty diesel did u have a chip with ur housing was it good or just find a stock housing for stage 1's?

you dont want a quick spool with stage 1s, high egts and brings the powerband way down(lose top end power) U dont need fuel upgrades with stage 1s . your stock hpop will be fine, unless its real weak. All you need is a good tune with your stage 1s , of course a IC wouldnt hurt. Stage 1s are gonna wake that baby up

when u blew my turbo i was running a edge evo. thats wat i ran b4 i got my custom tunes tuner. i also did it on stock HPOP, a 15*, later on i put in a SD 17* HPOP and could tell a difference. my stock fuel system would not keep up with my stage Is. if i got on it hard itd always thro the 1211 code (inj control press above below normal) and u could feel it running out of fuel.

Stock housing back on ..we have a few if you got rid of yours. Adding a 17* pump and a IC would be best, your stock fuel system is fine for stage 1's.

Can make you a package deal on stage 1's and a TS 6pos chip with TW's custom tunes..PM if I can help.

I also have the banks quick spool but with stock injectors. My ? is will it be ok to just run a ts 6 position chip from php with this banks system and why do you guys recomend taking it off when installing stage 1's ? I get the impression that the banks quick spool is not liked with big up grades just courius why. Thanks for any replys.

the banks quick spool is spining the hell outta that turbo with a stock motor. once u start adding tuning and bigger injectors its gonna over speed the turbo which causes it to go WAY out of its efficiency range. it cant handle those kinda drive/boost pressures along with the added RPMs ud be putting on it. stock turbo on these trucks should never see 30psi or over. really id say 30 is over wat they should push. these bushing turbos were jus never designed to spin like that. with the stock housing ud cut bak on the strain the turbo would be going thru, but itd still be at its max.

PS- with stage I's or even a good set of tunes u wouldnt need the quicker spooling the smaller housing would give u.

Thanks Dirty Diesel that makes alot of sense when I upgrade my injectors I will remove it by the way what does the stock housing cost to put back on it and the truck runs pretty good with the quick spool stock but I want some tunes really bad! Thanks Skinner
