What first mods do I do.

I just got a 97 F250 PSD with 99,000 on it. It is my first diesel, I was wondering what the first mods I should do or should I say can do with a typical 25 year olds budget. Thanks for the help.

I would start off with some gauges....EGT (pre-turbo), boost and Trans Temp (for Auto tranny). Then, Intake and exhaust and a chip. After that...your looking at about $1000+ per mod...turbo, big oil, injectors.

Also...other than performance, look at a lift, tires, bumpers etc.

I second the gauges first suggestion. You really need to know what your truck is doing before you mod it. By that I mean you need to be able to see what effect your mods have on egt, etc.

You can also look into some of the DIY mods, such as a Zoodad, a Tymar type filter, a fuel pressure shim, and a 10K.

Yeah i think the backbone too mods with a turbo diesel, to start out with is to get the restriction out of the stock exhaust, let the turbo breath better.

I'm going with the intake and exhaust first. Just don't start tuning until you get guages. If you look in the mod section, there's a bunch of cheap mods that are easy to do.

Intake and exhaust can be done fairly cheap. Tymar NAPA filter #6637 is cheap, and if u look around for a turbo back exhaust from our bvendors or like ebay or something, you can get one shipped to your door for like $350 or less. Then the gauges come, then mods that increase fuel!!!!!!!!!
