Will a 99-03 IDM 120v work
In my 97 OBS? I currently have the F7TF12B599AA.
Looking at ordering from http://www.edisacorp.com/p-793-idm-ford-diesel.aspx I fear mine may have an issue, and seems most places won't take your core if it has issues and they charge you an arm/leg for it then. They only charge $100 without the core. Would hate to spend the money to just get a stock one for a stock one if I could get a little increase for the same price. |

Yep, it'll work. I have a 120v in my truck, and even though it runs like crap it really helped it out. But the way i see it, is its 265 without a core, 165 with a core. I got mine for $100, and still have my stock one thats shot. But its used.

Where did you get yours from?

I got mine from a buddy that runs a diesel performance shop. I believe he got it from a junk yard.

How do you know if the IDM is shot? Any symptoms or signs?

With mine i was heading to work one morning, and stopped at a stop sign(weird, i know). When i went to take off it just stopped firing the passenger side bank. I had to go a couple miles to work, then 15-20 miles home with literally a inline 4. I got the "new" IDM, threw it on, and it fired right up and ran great. But i was about to replace the passenger side UVCH because we had no way to run a buzz test, and we never even thought that the IDM would go out. I was told IDM's do weird things when they go out, and mine sure did.
